Soil Microbial Activity

The effects of 15-2-0 and other nitrogen sources on soil microbial populations under a creeping bentgrass turf grown on a silt-loam native profile. Note the stimulatory effect of 15-2-0 on microbial growth compared to the other nitrogen sources.

Comparative effects of 15-2-0, Milorganite and an inorganic source of nitrogen on soil microbial populations under a creeping bentgrass turf grown on a USGA sand profile.  Note the rapid and explosive growth of soil microbial populations after 15-2-0 applications compared to the other sources of nitrogen.

Turfgrass Quality Ratings

Overall Turfgrass Quality after treatment with 15-2-0, and inorganic souluble fertilizer of “Providence” creeping bentgrass grown on a native silt-loam soil.  Note that natural organic 15-2-0 is as rapid and effective as liquid inorganic applications of nitrogen.

Overall Turfgrass Quality after treatment with 15-2-0 and inorganic soluble fertilizer of “Providence” creeping bentgrass grown on a standard USGA sand green soil profile.  Note that natural organic 15-2-0 can be the sole source of nitrogen on sand greens resulting in a turf quality equal to that of a liquid inorganic source.
